3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Join us in the Foulds Theatre on Sunday, January 24, 2027, from 3:00–5:00 PM for an afternoon of music with Tim Grimm, a rough-voiced, straight-lined plucked-guitar folk artist.
For a quarter of a century, Tim Grimm has been writing songs of stunning – and increasingly rare – quality. He has a way of drawing you in like only the very best writers can, finding truth in the smallest details and turning those truths into something luminous. Each new recording by Grimm represents a poetic, intense, passionate immersion in the heart of America. His songs are authentic, straight from the heart, quietly breathtaking. A magnificent songwriter and a storyteller with the ability to connect to audiences in an intimate and natural way, Grimm is a master craftsman sitting down, painting a picture, and giving a master class in how songs can hold both narrative and soul.
Born and raised in Indiana, he has developed a distinct voice shaped by the Midwest. Grimm carries the torch of Woody Guthrie’s social conscience, the refined and authentic storytelling of Townes and Guy Clark, and the raw intensity of Kris Kristofferson, David Olney, and Eric Taylor. His lyrics, filled with considerable literary weight, often feel like prose written as poetry.
He has recorded over a dozen albums in his 25 years as a singer-songwriter, and has toured abroad in the Netherlands and Germany regularly for the last 18 years.
Tim’s poignant protest ballad “Broken Truth” was the #1 most-played song on International Folk Radio for the years of 2024 and 2025. In February of 2026, a video of Tim playing “Broken Truth” in a packed bar in Texas went viral, after which Tim received hundreds of personal notes and requests for live performances. This song continues to resonate with citizens both at home and abroad.
Tim often tours with outstanding sidemen including legendary guitarist Sergio Webb, with whom he has collaborated on his last two albums, and Italian dobro player / multi-instrumentalist Paolo Ercoli.
