Taylor1 300x199 Music Walk is coming starting Aug 21st mark this down on your calendar

Premiering August 21, Music Walk is the new and exciting downtown Fort Myers event brought by the creators and promoters of the Fort Myers Art Walk. The event will follow the model of Art Walk, but with a focus on music and performing arts. More than 40 downtown Fort Myers’ venues will feature some sort of a musical/artistic performance the third Saturday of every month beginning in August.

The daas Gallery will be presenting an intimate and very different performance in conjunction with the Music Walk. “Since we are not a big and spacious venue, we are limiting the amount of people we can have in our space with the performer. This way, the show will be very exclusive and intimate”, explains co-owner Xavier Brignoni. “We will follow the same uniqueness that characterizes our gallery for these performances and I am sure people will enjoy them as much as our exhibitions.”

Opening this event will be the great Peter Taylor; a guitar virtuoso and accomplished musician who has collaborated with local and international artists. His performances will begin at 7:00 pm on Saturday August 21. His 45 minute set, titled “Single Minded”, is an ethereal and beautiful mix of emotional and heartfelt songs in voice and guitar that will captivate the audience.

The owners of daas Gallery invite Music Walk visitors to call 239-939-1194 and reserve a space, which is very limited. There will be no access inside the gallery once the performance has begun. For more information about Peter Taylor or daas Gallery, please call 239-939-1194. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Over 80 women attended the monthly meeting of the Women’s Wine Club last night hosted at the Bell Tower fine dining restaurant Cru.  Chef Harold Balink (formerly of H2 and Harold’s on the Bay) put on a show with a wonderful four course meal consisting of spicy crab, avocado and cucumber napoleon appetizer, spinach stuffed chicken with a tomato ciabatta salad, pepper grilled rib-eye with their own special sauce, and for dessert a white chocolate mousse with roasted banana sauce.  My guest and I had such a wonderful time even when the lights went out and we dined by candle light.   We got to see many of our friends including Heather Christie, Holly Leland, Connie Ramos,Tara Molloy, Gina Birch, Rachel Peacock, and her good friend as well as ours Sharon Torregrossa.  This was an evening filled with wine and laughter.  Thank you again to the Women’s Wine Club which meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month.  For more information about the next event sharontorregrossa@gmail.com.

Thanks to my good friends Lydia Black and Chelsea Birczak  they let me know about this great event each Saturday at the alliance.  You can pick up organic ,fresh food and other products at the green market.  Some vendors there are Andy’s Seafood, 55 0 Cool wine and cheese and artisan’s bread from the Bread Basket, honey, tropical fruit, preserves, jams, salsas from Paradise Gardens of Pine Island, and other green and healthful products.

One day, me and the family were looking for a new place to try out.   There are so many branded restaurants ,that we decided to choose an unused coupon  for the Amazon Grill.  The Exterior gives you the feeling that it is another chain , but once you enter you are very surprised, that this is a family owned and operated   restaurant.   It features a Brazilian  buffet as well as great meat selections from Chicken Heart, Beef Brisket, Ribs, Steak, Pork so tasty and  sausage.  If you have a little room for desert try the Flan.   On certain nights their is even Brazilian entertainment.   Meals are about $15  and Kids eat free under 6 years old.
