FSU award-winning students will perform in Fort Myers, Tuesday, August 10th at The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center www.sbdac.com. Enjoy an opening reception at 7pm, with complimentary appetizers and cash bar. The Chamber Recital featuring Stephanie Christiano, Mezzo-Soprano, and Stephen Salts, Baritone, along with Ron Doiron at Piano will begin at 8pm.
- Stephanie Christiano, Mezzo-Soprano, is a senior at the Florida State University College of Music, currently seeking a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance. No stranger to the stage, Stephanie has been singing and acting since she was a young girl at various local and professional theaters.
When she was 15 she first participated in the Spoleto Vocal Arts Symposium in Spoleto, Italy where she studied with coaches Enza Ferrari and Nico Castel. In 2007 she sang the role of Kate Pinkerton in Opera Naples production of Madam Butterfly. At Florida State, Stephanie has appeared on both the Ruby Diamond Auditorium Stage (La Bohème) and Opperman Music Hall where she played Pitti-Sing in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado. Aside from her main-stage performances, Stephanie has appeared at various elementary and middle-schools in Leon County, singing the role of Kate in The Pirates of Penzance.
An alumna of the Theater Department at Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts, Stephanie is happy to be back in Fort Myers performing at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. Pennsylvania.
Dr. Doiron was named a 2008 “Musician and Educator Star in the Arts” by the United Arts Council of Collier County, which recognizes exceptional leadership in the cultural community.
- Stephen Salts, baritone, currently studies at The Florida State University College of Music and will graduate with a Bachelor of Music degree (voice performance) this May (2011). From there, he hopes to move back to south Florida and obtain a Master of Music degree in voice performance and/or opera studies.
Stephen has performed with the Florida State Opera since 2007 in La Bohème (Puccini), The Mikado (Gilbert & Sullivan), La Clemenza di TitoThe Impressario (Mozart), and played the role of Fiorello in The Barber of Seville (Rossini).
He also performs with the Florida State Baroque Ensemble in addition to the Florida State University Singers with whom he traveled Rome, Siena, Florence, Venice, and Milan this past March.
- Ronald Doiron, D.M.A., is the Artistic Director and Conductor of The Bach Ensemble, and the Director of Music, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Marco Island, Florida. Dr. Doiron will accompany the vocalists. Since July 2003 Ronald Doiron has been at the musical helm as Artistic Director and Conductor of The Bach Ensemble. A church and synagogue musician for over 30 years, Dr. Doiron has held important positions as both organist and choirmaster in Southern California and Pennsylvania, including Director of Music at Temple Sinai, Director of Music Ministries at the First Presbyterian Church and Church of the Assumption in Pittsburgh,
