ABEDUA May 6th Pay It Forward for Prosperity event at Nirvana Indian Fusion Resturant

One of our  selcted readers Trish DeFeo wanted you all to know about an upcoming event.

“The “Pay It Forward” event is an opportunity for us to make a meaningful, conscious decision to help others, and make a difference for such a great organization in our local community,” said Trish DeFeo, founder of the MOM’s Prosperity Network of Southwest Florida.  “We are very excited to host this event, which will raise money for the victims of domestic abuse and their children, victims of sexual assault, and the homeless people of our community. We hope to encourage moms to realize their worth and reach the potential in every aspect of their lives, and to make their and their children’s lives better.” DeFeo says the MOM’s Prosperity Network wanted to do something significant in honor of Mother’s Day, and that’s when her group came up with the idea for the “Pay It Forward” fundraiser.

The event will include motivational speakers, door prizes, special giveaways, free Mom-tinis (martinis) and live music.  All monetary donations from the Pay It Forward event will benefit the Lee County chapter of ACT.   If you need more information go to their web page  www.momsprosperitynetworkswfl.org

Live X presented by the radio station  99X rocked the City of palms last Friday night.   The band took the stage after 4 other bands.   Two years ago I got to see them play as the opening act for Velvet Revolver.   They were great then, and even better now.    The crowd was a mixture of ages many of the High Schoolers and College kids new the newer songs like “Last of my kind” and “Check my Brain” while the listeners of music of the 90′s kept requesting the older songs Like ”Would”,  “Man in the box” and the show ending encore “Rooster”    The band kept all fans young and old extremely Satisfied.  Eventsfortmyers.com  ran into a few people as well .  We saw some of our friends Lee and Collins, Heather and Mike  Himschoot,  Charly and Melanie Caldwell of Internet Services Group , Deborah Angelicchio and Don and Tara Molloy of  Riverside Realty Group rocking through out the night.

Save the Date now in your planners.  This should be an evening to remember.   The proceeds from the Gala will go towards the continued restoration of this historical building for the Arts.

Designed by prominent Florida architect Nat Gaillard Walker, the Old Post Office opened in 1933 as one of the nation’s finest neoclassical revival structures.  It was converted to a Federal Courthouse in 1965 and later vacated in 1998.  Many of its original fixtures were removed or destroyed and the building fell into disrepair until the Art Center took over it, dedicated to its preservation with the creation of a community cultural center.

The final restoration phase will stop deterioration of the building’s historic elements, preserve this community gem, and complete the transformation a once-abandoned building into a modern arts facility.

The Art Center has been under renovations since 2003 and, upon completion, will feature 23,000 square feet of studio, performance, classrooms, and community event space.

More on the event will be announced throughout the summer and upcoming season.  Check out www.sbdac.com or call 239.333.1933 for more information.

One day, me and the family were looking for a new place to try out.   There are so many branded restaurants ,that we decided to choose an unused coupon  for the Amazon Grill.  The Exterior gives you the feeling that it is another chain , but once you enter you are very surprised, that this is a family owned and operated   restaurant.   It features a Brazilian  buffet as well as great meat selections from Chicken Heart, Beef Brisket, Ribs, Steak, Pork so tasty and  sausage.  If you have a little room for desert try the Flan.   On certain nights their is even Brazilian entertainment.   Meals are about $15  and Kids eat free under 6 years old.
